Flowid is looking forward to the 16th CFRT – Continuous Flow Reactor Technology for Industrial Applications where we will bring our expertise in continuous manufacturing in chemical processes.

A highlight of the event will be our talk by Niels Klement on 24th of September, presenting “Scaling up controlled precipitations in flow”. Solids are common products of the chemical industry. Though, most chemistry is done in the liquid state. Solid products are then obtained through precipitations. Precipitates and solids can be notoriously hard to handle in industrial processes. Particularly in flow, where they can lead to clogged pipes. This issue can be avoided when precipitating in a controlled way.

In our talk, Niels will walk you through our controlled precipitation approach: From feasibility studies to pilot plants and all the way up to full-scale production. We share real industrial cases where we helped customers:

• Precipitate clog-free in flow, in a controlled manner
• Continuously collect solid products
• Achieve monodisperse crystallization through precise cooling control

We have seen this approach work in pharma, fine chemicals, aroma chemicals, and even energetic materials and we look forward to extending the applicability in the future.
